Practice Cancelled - 08/30/05

Practice cancelled tonight. Next practice is Thursday, and tonight's will be moved to Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30.

Both will have a hard stop after 1.5 hours.

Team Mom Update - 08/29/05

Practice Schedule
I know that we’ve changed our practice schedule a few times, but here is the final schedule moving forward. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday’s from 6:00pm to 7:30/7:45pm. If we have a scrimmage, we may go as long as 8:00pm but if you need to leave anytime after 7:30pm, please feel free take your child.

Due to the Labour Day holiday on Monday the 5th of September, we will not practice that day. We will however practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that week at our normal practice time.

Game Schedule
Believe it or not, we still do not have a game schedule! I know this is hard for everyone, as we all want to coordinate our weekends. What I can tell you is that we will normally play on Saturday’s and our time will normally be between 9:00am. and 11:00am for most games. As soon as I have the schedule I will forward immediately!

King’s Bowl
We will play the Kings Bowl on Sunday, September 4th at 1:00pm. If for any reason you think your child may be unable to be there or if you may be late for any reason, please let me know in advance. Thanks.

Directions to Kings High School: Take Lebanon Rd. North to where it dead-ends at Kings Island. Turn left merging immediately into the right lane and turn right onto Kings Island Drive. Just past the park turn right on Wilson Rd. Take it to the end and you will be at the school parking lot.

Team Mom Update - 08/23/05

Our First Game
What a great game yesterday! The boys did a fantastic job on all areas of play and our defense was outstanding at holding that very big team back.

Our cheerleaders also did a great job and looked oh so cute and organized, a big cheer out to them as well.

Finally, I'm sure you will all agree that our coaches have been doing a great job with the kids. Being a second year mom, I know how hard it is to get all of the kids where they should be and understanding the whole game all around. A big thanks to all of our coaches for their hard and great work with our team so far!

Preview Night and Our First Caravan
This weekend will be our first Preview Game on Saturday, August 27th at 12:30pm (arrival for 11:15am) at Lakota. For those who want to join us, we will caravan from The LMS parking Lot (off of Lebonon Rd). We will meet at 10:15am in the side lot and mingle, eat and decorate our vehicles with messages of Go Tigers, Grrrr, etc and then follow each other to the game (Sharonville Field). This is a lot of fun for the boys and parents as well. I hope everyone can make it.

Please also make sure to let me know well in advance if you are think you are going to be away for any of our games.

Team Mom Update - 08/16/05

This Weekend
Saturday the 20th:
Practice will be at our regular time – 9:00am to 11:00am

Sunday the 21st:
* We play our first game – The Tigers Bowl at the Loveland High School
* Please arrive at 10:45am for practice and weigh-ins (we will be on the field to the right of the concession stand)
* Game time is 12:00noon
* We will meet after the game with our cheerleaders to exchange gifts (10 minutes max) Also remember that each player gets a team drink after every game. Just go up to the concession stand and tell them your with Mayer’s team.

Practice Schedule
Except for Monday, our regular practice time will be changed to 6:30pm to 8:00pm. We will still practice on Saturday’s from 9:00am to 11:00am until our games start.

UC Bearcats Tickets
If you ordered UC tickets, please make sure to bring your cheques tonight. The tickets were $11.00 each and all children over the age of 3yrs do have to pay for a seat. You can make your checks out to LYF. Thanks.

Game/Concession Schedule
We should be getting our schedules by the end of this week or early next week at the latest.

School Preview Night – Monday the 22nd
Preview night for Loveland does not interfere with our practice; however, St. Columban’s is from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. If possible, please visit your school at 6:30pm and then come to practice for the 2nd half. Thanks.

Girls Night Out
This Thursday the 18th is a Mom’s Night Out! We will send all of the Dad’s home with the kids and all of us Mom’s will meet at The Works immediately after practice for a drink or two, or three, or ……..!

Trash on the Field
It is our responsibility to leave our practice area clean. Therefore, please take the time at the end of practice to pick-up any of your water, juice, gador aid bottles or garbage of any kind from the field. Thanks.

Directions to Fields

ANDERSON HIGH SCHOOL
I-275 East to I-275 South (East side of Cincinnati). Exit onto Five-Mile Road (exit 69). Turn Right onto Five-Mile Rd. Turn Right @ first traffic light onto Old Five-Mile Rd. At first stop sign turn left onto Forest Rd. Anderson High School is ¼ mile on Right. 1 st entrance is grandstand parking and upper gate, 2 nd entrance (@ baseball fields) leads to rear parking, warm-up fields, scale area, and lower gate.

INDIAN HILL HIGH SCHOOL
South on Loveland-Madiera Rd. Follow to 3 way intersection at Camargo Rd. Take a sharp left onto Carmargo Rd. , just over the RR tracks turn right onto Drake Rd.
(School at top of hill, on right, approx. 1/4 mile)

KINGS STADIUM (Junior High School)
Take Lebanon Rd. North to where it dead ends at Kings Island. Turn left merging immediately into the right lane and turn right onto Kings Island Drive. Just past the park turn right on Wilson Rd. Take it to the end and you will be at the school parking lot. Stadium is back to the right.

Option: I-71 North to exit 25 Kings Mills Road Exit. Take a right off the exit onto Kings Mills Road. Go to the second light; take a right onto Columbia Road. The High School is on the immediate left and the Kings Junior High School is further down on the left. The football/soccer stadium is behind the Junior High school.

LAKOTA - TOMAHAWK STADIUM
I-75 North to Tylersville Rd. Exit (2nd Exit North from I-275). Turn left onto Tylersville Rd. and follow approx. 4-5 miles. Lakota Freshman Bldg ( Old High School ) on right. Stadium behind school.

MASON HIGH SCHOOL
Lebanon/Columbia Rd. towards Kings Island turn left on Socialville-Foster Rd. turn right on Mason-Montgomery Rd, Mason Middle School on left and Mason High School is on the right at corner of Tylersville and Mason-Montgomery Rds. (Field behind school )

MILFORD – Miami Meadowview Park
I-275 to Blanchester-Milford Exit ( Rt. 28 - Exit # 57 ). Left off the exit and immediately get into right lane. Take the Rt. 28 By-pass straight ahead and get off at the 1st exit, ( Wolfpen-Pleasant Hill Rd. ). Turn right off exit and follow past Milford High School to traffic light Intersection of Rte. 131 and Pleasant Hill Rd. Turn Left, approx. 3 miles on left, Miami Meadowview Park.

SHARONVILLE
I-275 to Rt. 42 Exit. Head south past Sharon Woods to Cornell Rd. ( Firehouse on corner ). Turn left onto Cornell, 2nd street ( Oak St. ) turn right and follow till it dead-ends into Creek Rd. Turn left onto Creek Rd., and follow to Thornview. Turn right onto Thornview and park at the Sharonville Community Center. ( Field across from the Community Center ).

SYCAMORE – EDWIN H. GREENE MIDDLE SCHOOL
I-275 to I-71 South take the Pfeiffer Rd exit and turn right. Turn left onto Kenwood Rd. and watch for Aldine Drive on the Left. Turn Left onto Aldine Dr., (school and field straight ahead.)

LITTLE MIAMI - Veteran's Memorial Park
From Loveland, take West Loveland Ave to Lebanon Rd. Turn Rt on Lebanon Rd. At 4-way stop (Fields Ertel Rd) go Straight. Lebanon Rd turns into Columbia Rd. Turn Rt on Montgomery Rd (Rt. 22-3).Take Rt. 22-3 into Morrow. Turn left at the 2nd traffic light (Rt 123). Park on the right immediately following the bike trail

Team Mom Update - 08/08/05

Practice Times
Starting this week as mentioned, we will practice on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We will also practice on Saturday's from 9:00am to 11:00am.

Numbers on Helmets
Please make sure that you all have your jersey numbers on the back of your helmets (right side), if you are missing yours, please let me know.

Game Pants at Practice
Please remember that there are no game pants allowed during practice. If you are having difficulty with your practice pants for any reason, just let me know.

UC Game - PLEASE RESPOND
If you are planning on attending the UC game on September 17th against Western Carolina, I need to know no later than Tuesday. Please email with how many tickets you will need (players are free).

Spirit Wear Sale
Underarmour and Adidas gear will be sold at the spirit wear table for the first couple of home games if you need anything.

Homecoming Parade
Please mark your calendars for the Homecoming Parade. It is October 6th (time tbd).

Scrimmage Thursday
This Thursday we will scrimmage at 7:15pm, Go Tigers!

Pictures & Hotdog Party Aug 13th
Please also mark your calendars for the 13th, we will: Meet for pictures at 9:15am, take pictures at 9:30am, practice from 10:00am to Noon and then have a Hot Dog Party from noon to 1:00pm (please let me know if you want to help organize).

Team Mom Update - 08/02/05

Practice Change
Please be aware that we will be changing our practice schedule starting next week. Presently we practice Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

The new schedule will be: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday's from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and Saturday's from 9:00am to 11:00am.

Please also remember that whenever we have a board meeting or any other issue that may come up to change our practice times, I will email those details as soon as possible.

Team Pictures
Our team photos will be Saturday, August 13th at 9:30am at the LYF High School (where we picked-up our gear). We need everyone there by 9:15am in their game pants, shoulder pads (team jersey’s will be handed out at pictures), cleats and long black socks (if possible).

Please also remember that we will practice that day after pictures, so please have your practice pants (with pads) ready and helmets.

If for any reason you are not able to make this date, please let us know and I will look into make-up sessions (excluding team photo).

Tigers Bowl
We will play the Tiger’s Bowl on Sunday, August 21st. Our game time is 12:00pm. For those who are unaware, whenever we play a game, we arrive 1 hour and 15 minutes before game time to allow us to warm up and do our weigh-ins. Therefore, please be there at 10:45 that day dressed in game pants and all the trimmings!

Board Meeting
Reminder that our next Board meeting is Monday, August 29th at 8:15pm. This will mean that we will practice that day from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The meeting is held at City Hall and we encourage everyone to attend if possible.

UC Bearcats Game
Saturday, September 17th at 7:00pm is the Bearcats game, which LYF has been invited to attend as a group. The kids and coaches are free; all others are $11.00 (instead of $24.00). Please let me know if you will attend, it is always a great night for everyone!
